Imagine a spark of curiosity igniting in the mind of a young learner, fueled by the simple joy of holding a new exercise book and pen. This is the magic we aim to create for 59 bright basic school students in the Nabdam District, as CoDA Continues to Support Child Sponsorship in Nabdam District, providing essential tools and resources to support their educational journey and empower them to reach their full potential.
Since 2009, Community Development Action (CoDA), formerly known as Kongo Community Development Association (KoCDA), has been dedicated to supporting child sponsorship in Nabdam district. Through the generous funding of MTÜ Mondo, the leading NGO in Estonia, CoDA has been able to provide essential resources and assistance to parents and children, easing their educational financial burdens and creating opportunities for them to learn and grow.
First, we’ll be providing each student with a set of 10 exercise books, filled with blank pages waiting to be filled with knowledge and creativity. Alongside these, we’ll be giving each student 10 pens, ready to help them write their stories and solve math problems. And, to ensure they have everything they need, we’ll also be providing 12 pencils, sharpened and ready to go!
But that’s not all – we’ll also be providing a range of personal care items, including bag, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap and sponges. These may seem like small things, but they’re essential for maintaining good hygiene and health.
In addition to these essentials, we’ll also be providing some special resources to help spark their creativity and love of learning. Each student will receive a drawing book, graphs, and math sets, which will help them develop their problem-solving skills and think outside the box. And, new this year, we’re excited to be providing textbooks, which will serve as a valuable resource for their academic journey.
By providing these essential items, CoDA is easing the financial burden on parents who would otherwise struggle to afford them. No longer will they have to worry about finding money to buy books, allowing them to focus on their child’s education and well-being. This is due to efforts of KoCDA in supporting child sponsorship in Nabdam district .
As we continue this labor of love, we’re reminded that education is the key to unlocking potential. With every pencil stroke and every page turned, we’re shaping futures and creating a brighter tomorrow.
